Truck Driver Hospitalized In Overnight Lakemont Crash
A crash left a truck driver with serious injuries Wednesday evening after he struck a power pole at a Bellevue intersection.

BELLEVUE, WA — A serious crash in the Lakemont area left the driver of a box truck with serious injuries and caused traffic disruptions in the area lasting into Thursday morning. Bellevue police arrived at the intersection of Lakemont Boulevard and Southeast Newport Way just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, after the truck crashed through a power pole.
Pictures from the scene showed significant damage to the front of the truck, and police said the driver suffered serious injuries and required hospitalization.

The intersection reopened roughly 12 hours later, but transportation officials said it was running as an all-way stop while crews installed a temporary traffic signal. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
