Bellevue (Seattle), WA The Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout for high school baseball players ages 14-18 will take place in Bellevue (Seattle), WA on Tuesday, June, 24, 2014 at Newport HS Field at 1 pm. The Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout for pre-high school athletes ages 12-14 will occur later that afternoon, on Tuesday, June, 24, 2014 at Newport HS Field at 4 pm. Many talented, local players have started their careers through Baseball Factory’s program including Woodinville’s Daniel Fredrickson. In 2012, Daniel attended the Bellevue, WA Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, where he was recognized for his outstanding performance. He was then selected to participate in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. This event is Held at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, the game showcases the top 36 rising high school seniors and juniors from across the country. Past Pre-Season All-Americans include David Wright, of the New York Mets and BJ Upton, of the Tampa Bay Rays. Daniel, an outfielder, graduates from Bothell High School this year and will continue his academic and baseball success at Washington State University.
During the high school and pre-high school tryouts, Baseball Factory’s staff of professional scouts, former professional players, and former college coaches will review each player’s speed, pitching, hitting, defense, and arm strength. Players will receive a verbal evaluation of their skills over the phone within 72 hours of the tryout. The pre-high school tryout for 12-14 year-olds will focus on providing players with a fun workout during which player development tips and guidance are provided and players will learn more about their individual strengths and areas for improvement. During the high school tryout for 14-18 year-olds, Baseball Factory’s staff will lead a college recruiting question and answer session. This session focuses on the college recruiting process and gives players recommended guidelines they should follow in order to increase their chances of playing college ball and receiving scholarships.
Top players from both of they tryouts may be selected to compete with Baseball Factory and Under Armour at different National Team or Training events. These events provide selected players with an unmatched baseball experience to continue their development and ultimately help prepare them for the college level. Since 1994, Baseball Factory has helped over 50,000 high school players reach their dream of playing college baseball. In addition, over 4,500 players have been drafted and 350 have gone on to play in the majors.
