UW Lecturer Giving Talk On White Identity At Bellevue City Hall

Dr. Robin DiAngelo will explore how understanding white identity can lead to a more equitable society.

BELLEVUE, WA - A University of Washington lecturer will give a talk about white racial identity at City Hall on Jan. 12 in advance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Dr. Robin DiAngelo's talk will cover how understanding white racial identity can help build a more equitable society for all races.

"The work of creating Dr. Martin Luther King’s 'beloved community' is informed by learning about the shared experiences of what it means to be African American, or Latino American, or Asian American, or (fill in your race/ethnicity here) in the United States. What is often missing from the conversation is an exploration about what it means to be white," reads a description of the talk.
