Video: Bellevue's 'Skateboarding Cop' Chases Down Suspect At Local QFC
Bellevue police released a video of Officer Craig Hanaumi chasing down a suspect at a local grocery store.

BELLEVUE, WA - He didn't have his skateboard with him, but Bellevue Officer Craig Hanaumi was still fast enough to catch up to a fleeing burglary suspect.
Bellevue police on Tuesday released surveillance video showing Hanaumi - also know as "Bellevue's skateboarding cop" - chasing down a suspect inside the QFC at the Crossroads Shopping Center in the northeast section of the city.
The suspect was wanted on a felony warrant after he allegedly fled community custody. The suspect was originally in custody for burglary, Bellevue police said.

Hanaumi has earned a reputation as a "cool cop" for relating to teens through skateboarding. Hanaumi joined Bellevue police after moving to Washington from Honolulu, where he also served as an officer. Hanaumi's moves were first discovered about six years ago when he was caught on camera skateboarding with some kids in Bellevue at a bank - although he did have to ask them to move on.
