Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Puget Sound Region

With snow in the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Western Washington.

BELLEVUE, WA - The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Western Washington due to the possibility of snow overnight Saturday and into early Sunday morning.

Although the forecast calls for a maximum of about 2 inches of snow, the advisory warns that snow will accumulate over a short period of time, which could cause problems for drivers. The advisory covers all of Western Washington, from Everett to Seattle to Olympia.

"The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow for the Washington coast and the interior of Western Washington from the Everett area southward. This Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM PST Sunday.

"Showers on the coast will spread inland this evening and move northward into Everett and Seattle after midnight.

"Snow showers may produce the total accumulation in a short period of time. Slippery, snow-covered roadways are possible during the late night and morning hours."
