Newcastle Fire Damages Home, 2 Dogs Unharmed
Bellevue and Renton firefighters responded to a fire early Wednesday morning near May Creek Park.
BELLEVUE, WA — A fire broke out in a home in Newcastle near May Creek Park early Wednesday morning. Bellevue and Renton firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to the main home, however.
The fire broke out before 8 a.m. at a home along 129th Place Southeast, just west of Coal Creek Parkway. A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the home's garage and called 911, Bellevue fire Lt. Camari Olson said.
The fire was out within a few minutes after Bellevue and Renton firefighters arrived. The main home was full of smoke, and so the home had to be ventilated.

The homeowner was at work, and two dogs living in the home were in the backyard. Olson said the home's smoke detectors were working, so anyone in the home likely would've been able to make it out safely.
King County investigators responded to find out what caused the fire.
