The Gardiner Community Center's own Gallery of the Arts will be hosting the Opening Reception for local artist, Jean Glaser, on Sunday, August 2nd from 11-2pm. She has gained a big following for her commissioned artwork and the Gallery is thrilled to be showing her works for the month of August.
Animals are the heart of Jean’s work. Whether painting wildlife, farm animals, or beloved family pets, she is captivated by the individuality, spirit, and quiet wisdom each one possesses. Jean often says that when she paints a likeness of an animal, she feels she is “having a conversation with them” – a conversation that grows clearer as the painting moves toward completion. It is this connection that allows her to reveal not only an animal’s likeness but also its unique personality, making her commissioned pet portraits especially treasured by their owners.
