2 Arrested For Shooting At Sumner City Hall, Police Car

Two 19-year-olds were arrested in connection to the shooting earlier this week, according to city officials.

SUMNER, WA - Sumner police have arrested two men in connection to a shooting earlier this week in the downtown area that damaged City Hall and a police cruiser. Both of the suspects are 19 and are from Sumner, according to the city.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Multiple gunshots were heard in the vicinity of City Hall, and police found multiple bullet holes in the building - and the rear window of a police cruiser was shot out.

"Upon responding, officers found that at least one shot had gone through the back window of a patrol car, parked in the lot across Alder Avenue from City Hall, and three other shots had hit the back of the City Hall structure, striking a metal door, siding and brick. Early indications appear to show this is part of other shots fired in the area, but Sumner Police continue to investigate," the city said in a statement about the shooting.
