Body Found At Snoqualmie Pass Identified As Missing Auburn Woman

The missing woman's car had been found abandoned and engulfed in flames in Tacoma late last month.

TACOMA, WA — Law enforcement officials have identified a body found near Snoqualmie pass as an Auburn woman who had recently been reported missing, and whose car had been found engulfed in flames late last month.

Tacoma police say the body was found on Wednesday, August 5 near the pass and brought to the King County Medical Examiner's Office for identification. Monday, the examiner confirmed that the body belonged to 50-year-old Diana Davis, an Auburn resident who had recently been reported missing.

According to the Tacoma Police Department, Davis had last been seen on July 27. Two days later, her car was found abandoned and burned in the 1600 block of Court E, with no evidence of where Davis may have gone.

Now that Davis' body has been recovered, Tacoma PD say they suspect her death was a homicide, and they will be working with the King County Sheriff's Office to investigate further.
