Bonney Lake Boat Launch Closing Jan. 6

The Lake Tapps boat launch will close and the lake levels will be lowered.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - The boat launch at Allan Yorke Park at the southern end of Lake Tapps will close for the winter on Friday. At the same time, lake users and residents should prepare for a test of a new valve that will require the lowering of water levels in the lake.

The Cascade Water Alliance will drop Lake Tapps 6 to 8 feet this month to test a valve at the powerhouse. The levels will remain at 535 feet mid-lake until early spring, around mid-March. The new valve will make it easier and safer to maintain water levels in the reservoir, the Cascade Water Alliance says.
