Bonney Lake Chamber Kicks Off Annual Photo Contest

Each year, the Bonney Lake Chamber of Commerce puts out a Business and Community Guide with a cover photo of a Bonney Lake location.

The 2009 guide featured the hot air balloon often seen flying over Lake Tapps with Mount Rainier in the background. In 2010, the front cover showed a gorgeous view of Lake Tapps and Mount Rainier, with a boat pulling riders on a tube on a summer day.

Now, it's your turn to submit a photo. The contest is open to the public and the winner's photograph will be featured on cover of the 2011 Business and Community Guide.

All submissions must be in by 5 p.m. on March 23 and the winner will be announced on the Chamber's web site at 3 p.m. on April 5.

"I am hoping for a community photo this year, showing people having fun in Bonney Lake," says the chamber’s executive director, Lora Butterfield.

The photos will be judged by Butterfield, the Chamber Board and publisher. While Butterfield would like to see photos of people, stunning local nature scenes are always a popular submission.

"Of course, if we have a stellar Mount Rainier shot and it is voted the winner, we will use it."
