Bonney Lake Police: 22 Arrested at Underaged Drinking Party, and Tail Light Damaged and Knife Pulled in Road Rage Incident

The following information from April 4 to April 9 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

April 4, 2013

Eluding: Police detailed a vehicle on the 20700 block of 107th Street East after pursuing it beginning at about 9:55 a.m. because a records check found the driving status of the vehicle owner was suspended. The vehicle initially did not stop and speeds exceeded posted speed limits before a male driver was seen exiting the vehicle and fleeing. He was later arrested on April 9.

Mental Health Issue: Police responded to the area behind Goodwill at 2:47 p.m. for an initial report that someone had been stabbed. Upon arrival they found a man who had no shoes on and mud all over his socks; a witness told police she saw him screaming and running from the woods – he was crying and looked hurt. When medical aid checked him, they didn’t find any signs of injury. The man reportedly had a history of mental health issues and was taken for an involuntary commitment to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Potted Plants: A property owner on the 19400 block of 76th Street East reported to police a tenant had just moved out and left behind a travel trailer containing several marijuana starter plants. Police responded at 10:36 p.m. and placed the plants in the police property room for safekeeping. The former tenant may have had documentation authorizing use of medical marijuana.

Theft from Vehicle: Police received a report at 3:30 p.m. that construction tools worth $1,750 were stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence on the 7300 block of 194th Avenue East sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Hit and Run: Police responded to the Walmart parking lot at 5:17 p.m. for a hit and run to a parked vehicle. The victim reported she parked at about 4:30 p.m. to go shopping. At about 5 p.m. when she returned, she noted the damage. Store surveillance shows a vehicle causing the damage; police were following up.

Underaged Party: Twenty two people were arrested for minor exhibiting the effects of liquor, one person went to the hospital and one person was booked for making false statement to police after a multi-agency patrol responded to an apartment on the 8400 block of Locust Avenue East at 11:50 p.m. for a report of a loud party.

Road Rage: Police responded to the Lowes parking lot at 3:38 p.m. for a report that someone had damaged a vehicle in a road rage incident. The victim told police he may have cut off the suspect earlier on State Route 410 East near South Prairie Road. The suspect then followed the victim into the Lowes parking lot, got out of a black, newer Honda Accord and threatened the victim while holding a teal colored Club. The victim said he stayed in the vehicle and then the suspect struck the driver’s side tail light before leaving the scene. A witness told police the victim subsequently got out of his vehicle with a large K-bar knife and chased the suspect before putting it away to call police. The suspect was described as a white male, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium sized with black hair, no facial hair and in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a graphic design on it.

Domestic Violence: A 20-year-old man was cited and later taken into custody for assault fourth-degree domestic violence after police initially responded to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw at 3:45 p.m. for a report a 13-year-old boy had been assault by his older brother.

Commercial Burglary: Police responded to Siebens Machine Shop at 7:50 a.m. for a commercial burglary that had occurred overnight but it didn’t appear anything was stolen.  The owner told police his alarm company had detected motion and alerted him around midnight.  When he arrived in the morning he noted several items were opened or rummaged through and the suspects did damage a wall and cut a metal chain securing a fence door. The damages alone were about $1,000, plus $20 for the cut chain.  The owner later reported to police that about $4,000 in scrap metal was stolen along with several tools worth collectively about $2,000.

Theft Tools Confiscated: Police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant after stopping him at the Fred Meyer parking lot at about 8:15 a.m.  since the vehicle he was driving was identified as one that fled a stop attempt a few days earlier. During his arrest, a vehicle ignition key that had been shaved down was found in his pocket. Shaved down keys are commonly used to aid in motor vehicle thefts.

Disturbance: Police arrested a woman for harassment-domestic violence, Assault fourth-degree domestic violence and malicious mischief third-degree domestic violence after responding to the 9500 block of 210th Avenue East at 11:09 p.m. for a disturbance. The woman had reportedly been involved in a fight with her boyfriend and had assaulted him as well as damaged his travel trailer. She also made suicidal statements and threats to harm others to the arresting officer.
