Bonney Lake Police Warn Residents Of Bear Sightings
The state's Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified of the sighting.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - Police reported that bears have been spotted near the 11000 block of 188th Ave. The residential neighborhood is nearby to Victor Falls Elementary School.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Sgt. Kim Chandler told Patch.com in May that he had tallied 140 calls about black bears in the Puget Sound area so far in 2017. In all of 2016, he tracked 410 sightings or incidents; in 2015, there were more than 600.
It's more typical for bears to be spotted in the springtime as they forage for food following hibernation. Bears typically go to population centers looking to eat from bird feeders, fruit trees, and trash.
