Found, near starved kitty in Sumner off Parker Road E

Lost and Starved Kitty Found on Parker Road E

I arrived home Monday evening to find a nearly starved male kitty laying in my flower garden.  He was so thin, you could see the bones in his little tail.  His back bone showed and his little tummy...well, it was very little.

My landlord was kind enough to sell me a can of tuna which I opened and fed to this little kitty with the bright blue eyes.  He chatted with me and came to me almost immediately - well as immediately as a weakm malnourished kitty can when his flea collar is wrapped around his neck and front leg; eating the entire can of tuna in next to no time.  My heart broke watching him devour the food.

As I went in for the evening, I cried knowing this poor little thing would be left to care for himself over night.  Considering he barely came to me to eat, I was sure he wouldn't be alive in the morning.  Still, as I came out the door the next morning, there he was..waiting for me.

All day at work I worried about kitty.  You see, I am a lover of all animals but have a strong connection to cats.  My last two kitties lived to be 20 and 21 years.  When I had to put them down for health reasons, I cried like a baby and mourned them each for months.  Being single allows for such an attachment I believe.

Tonight after leaving work, I stopped in at Fred Meyers to pick up some dry and moist can food, a litter box, flea and tick treatment (just in case), some kitty treats and a few toys.  He has followed me around my 800 sq ft home, eaten a good meal, gave himself a bath, already used the litter box like the little gentleman he is and has made himself at home on the beanbag chair.

But, somewhere there is a family missing this little guy and I want to reunite them.  So, I've attached a photo of my new little friend and ask each of you to share it with your friends to see if someone recognizes kitty.  If no one claims him...I will be forced to BEG my landlord to allow me to keep him.  No matter what, I cannot take him to the pound for fear they will put him to sleep.  This simply won't work for me.  So, please help me help kitty.  If you think you know his owner, then email me at laurie@sumnerdowntown.com.
