Seahawks open their home schedule with a division rival game against the Arizona Cardinals. What makes the game a little more interesting is during the off season some Seahawk fans would have liked the Seahawks to have signed Quarterback Kevin Kolb. Who instead signed with the Cardinals and the Seahawks signed Tarvaris Jackson.
There was not much of a battle between Tarvaris Jackson and Kevin Kolb. If you look at the numbers Kevin Kolb had more yards passing, a better QB rating and passed for one TD but had two interceptions. While Tarvaris Jackson gave up one interception and scrambled 11 yards for the Seahawks only touchdown. At the end of the game Tarvaris Jackson had the stat that counted the most, the one in the win column with a 13-10 victory over the Cardinals.
Even with Tarvaris Jackson getting the win, it was hard at times to watch his indecisiveness in the pocket and his lack of awareness of the pocket collapsing around him. He still was sacked four times, for a total of 14 sacks on the season.

I don't know if it is the offensive play calling or Tarvaris Jackson's decision making but they are not utilizing the middle of the field or using a slant route as much as I would like. In his post-game press conference Pete Carroll mentioned they didn't spread the ball around like they wanted. I don't know who else they could have spread the ball to unless they were going to use Seahawks' fans.
Tarvaris Jackson threw to nine different players and used five different players on rushing plays not to mention his own rushing yards. Sidney Rice returned this week and it was the first game Tarvaris Jackson had him to throw too. Sidney Rice was Tarvaris Jackson's main target today with 8 passes and ended the day over the hundred yard receiving mark with 109 yards.

The defense had a good day holding the Cardinals Pro-Bowl Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald to only five receptions for a total of 64 yards. They pressured Kolb most the game, sacked him twice and had two interceptions. Kam Chancellor and Chris Clemons had some hard hits and showed a strong defensive presence that other teams will need to watch out for.
By the numbers:
The Seahawks field goal in the first quarter gave them the lead but was also was the first lead in their first three games.
When Marcus Trufant intercepted the ball just before the end of the first half that was the Seahawks first take away this season.
The Seahawks' defense in the second half held the Cardinals scoreless and Larry Fitzgerald to no receptions.
Fun Fact:
The Seahawks have won eight out of their last nine home openers.
