New Life

This last Saturday, the 17^th of March, I had the opportunity to do my first maternity shoot. Shelbi is much like a sister to me, and being able to share this day with her was an experience. I could see how excited she was to become a mother, and just before my eyes the little sister I knew, grew up. I chose this photo for the Photo of the Week, because there is so much emotion and love portrayed in this one moment. The love of a mother is outstanding and is something that can never be broken.

In the beginning of the session Shelbi was very nervous and felt awkward because she didn’t know what to do. Within a little amount of time she started to feel relax and was more comfortable. To capture a moment of the person’s true nature and true personality they need to feel comfortable to be themselves. I strive to get to know my client and for them to get to know me, so that they can feel comfortable and be themselves. Once both the client and I feel comfortable with one another, that is when I am able to capture the moment.
