Burn Victim Airlifted From Liberty Ridge Elementary

The elderly man was working with gasoline in his yard when he was burned, according to East Pierce Fire.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — An elderly man was airlifted from a southeast Bonney Lake neighborhood on Monday afternoon after he suffered significant burns in his yard.

According to East Pierce Fire, the man was working with gasoline in his backyard along the 13500 block of Ridgewood Drive East on Monday afternoon when the fuel ignited. He was burned from the neck down, firefighters said.

UW Medicine's Airlift Northwest helicopter responded, picking the man up from a field at Liberty Ridge Elementary School, according to firefighters. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
