The white Crown Victoria police were searching for was found on fire in Seattle early Wednesday morning.

SEATTLE, WA - The car suspected of hitting and killing a Tacoma man walking along SR 167 on Easter Sunday was found on fire in Seattle early Wednesday morning. Washington State Patrol put out an alert earlier this week looking for the 2006 white Ford Crown Victoria. The bumper, license plate, and mirror from the car were recovered at the scene of the hit-and-run killing.

The car was found on fire around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in a secluded neighborhood near the intersection of 56th Ave South and South Willow Street, near Seward Park.

The white Crown Victoria was found on a dead-end street in a residential neighborhood in South Seattle.

The victim was identified on Monday as Christopher W. Stanley, 39, of Tacoma. The accident happened in Auburn at around 4 a.m. on Easter Sunday when Stanley and a friend were walking along the shoulder of a ramp connecting SR 167 to SR 18 to get gas. The vehicle they were riding in was disabled nearby. Police believe that the Crown Victoria drove onto the shoulder and hit Stanley. He died at the scene.
