Dino Rossi Ahead With Most Campaign Cash In WA-8 Race

Rossi is leading the three Democrats in the WA-8 race with big donations from Boeing, Club For Growth, and House Speaker Paul Ryan's PAC.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - The candidates in the 8th Congressional District race have released second-quarter fundraising totals, showing that Republican Dino Rossi continues to out-fundraise his three Democratic challengers in the primary race.

Rossi raised about $850,000 in the second quarter of 2018, and has about $1.83 million on hand. Since last summer, Rossi has raised close to $3 million. In the second quarter, his biggest contributor was the Club For Growth, which gave Rossi 16 donations for a total of just over $25,000.

Rossi took a $5,000 donation from Prosperity Action Inc., a PAC founded by outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan. He also took $5,000 contributions from PACs associated with Boeing, Pfizer, John Deere, and the National Auto Dealers Association.

Dr. Kim Schrier has raised the most money out of the three Democrats in the race. Schrier raised about $463,000 in the second quarter and has just under $1 million on hand. She's raised about $1.54 million since last summer.

Schrier's biggest donors in Q2 (giving $5,000 each) were the American College of Radiology Association PAC, the AFL-CIO PAC, and the Women's Political Committee.

Democrat Shannon Hader raised about $102,000 in Q2 and loaned herself another $120,000. Jason Rittereiser raised about $251,000.

The three Democrats will meet this Thursday for the first pre-primary debate. The Kittitas County Democrats are hosting the event, which will take place at the Hal Holmes Community Center in Ellensburg.
