His body was dangling from a rope while I drove across the O'Farrell bridge.

Last week a young man, only 25 years old, an Afghanistan War Veteran, hung himself from the O'Farrell bridge; a bridge I cross every day, just outside the town of Carbonado.
His body was dangling from a rope while I drove across, past all the emergency response personnel.
Veterans are treated like sh*t when they come home.
Our country expects them to do deplorable things and then integrate back into our instant gratification, consumer driven society without any support or compensation.
While most Americans distract themselves from the realities of the world with sports, violent video games and movies, or dystopia novels, I do not live life with blinders on.  I grieve for the young man who hung himself last week; another casualty of war.
