H&R Block Prepares Consumers for Tax Impact of Affordable Care Act

On Thursday, January 8, 10,000 H&R Block locations nationwide will be open for 12 hours straight – from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. – during the first-ever Affordable Care Act (ACA) Q&A Day to help consumers understand how changes to the tax code as a result of the Affordable Care Act may impact their taxes.

This nationwide effort will give consumers access to H&R Block’s ACA Specialists who can help consumers understand how the Affordable Care Act may affect their tax return – and their refund – this year. Each client will receive a free ACA Tax Impact Analysis, a personalized review of how consumers’ taxes will be affected by the Affordable Care Act. This analysis will deliver tax support that is tailored to each consumer’s health insurance situation.

“The ACA made 46 changes to the tax code, making it the largest change in 20 years. But not everyone may know how it will impact them personally,” said Michelle Secrist,H&R Block office leader. “As ACA Specialists, we can help consumers during ACA Q&A Day understand how the health care law affects their specific circumstances and the impact it could have on their tax return.”
