Human Remains Found At Lake Tapps Construction Site

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Construction crews working at a site near Lake Tapps found skeletal human remains on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

Pierce County detectives responded to the scene and collected the remains. The remains were turned over to the Pierce County Medical Examiner for identification.

The construction site is located along 9th Street East at the north end of Lake Tapps, according to police. The property had been abandoned for years, police said. The construction crews was clearing the land in preparation for a project.
