Madyson’s Marshmallows Conquers Online, Takes National Trade and Retail Stage

The Bonney Lake and Sumner-based family business now has an account with Bed, Bath and Beyond and has received attention from People magazine and trade shows including Williams and Sonoma.

Two years ago when Patch first visited Breeze and Madyson Wetzel in their Madyson's Marshmallows kitchen, young Madyson was having a lot of fun reciting (incorrectly) her family's business website www.madysonsmarshmallows.com.

These days, it's likely no problem for 7-year-old Madyson to remember the web address starts with just 3 Ws, especially given the success of her family's business which The Tacoma News Tribune reports in this Wednesday story is going well both online and on the retail and trade show front.

According to the TNT, the Wetzels' marshmallows are now a part of the gourmet section in nine East Coast Bed, Bath and Beyond stores. They've also received attention from People magazine and Williams and Sonoma. To meet demand, the family launched a Kickstarter campaign last year that financed $12,000 for their commercial kitchen.

Locally, Madyson's Marshmallows can still be found at The Tea Madame shop in Sumner’s Windmill Gardens.
