Motherβs Day 2022 Brunch: Reserve Now In Sumner
Mother's Day may seem like a longs ways off, but reservations are filling up fast. Here are a few local favorites to consider.
SUMNER, WA β Motherβs Day on Sunday, May 8, is still a few weeks away, but if you plan to treat your mother to brunch or dinner out, reservations may fill up quickly across Pierce County as the nation approaches the most normal celebration of moms since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Local restaurants in Bonney Lake and Sumner have taken a financial hit during the pandemic and could use the business. Some are closed, so their employees can support their own mothers or be pampered by their children, but here are some options:
- Mama Stortini's, which has just opened a new location on East Main St. between Puyallup and Sumner, offers American favorites and Italian classics, with a Pacific Northwest twist. They offer food deliveries via DoorDash, but also have reservations open on OpenTable.
- Toscanos Italian Grill, located at 437 29th St NE Ste C, Puyallup, features fresh, locally sourced meat, seafood and produce. They offer To Go orders, but they have also revamped their dining areas for a post-COVID experience, and have reservations available on OpenTable.
- Stanley & Seafort's, if you're willing to make the voyage to Tacoma is perfect if your mom is in the mood for something fun, fresh and fishy this holiday. They're open for in-person dining from 3 to 9 p.m. and have reservations available online.
Several chain restaurants and other eateries are open for Motherβs Day this year, and some are offering specials.

Below are a few options to get you started, featuring everything from casual to fine dining. As always, itβs advisable to call ahead to make sure your local restaurant is participating and to inquire about any COVID-19 restrictions or limitations.
Applebeeβs is adding a $10 bonus card to the purchase of a $50 gift card for Motherβs Day and other special occasions, including graduations and Fatherβs Day.

Bob Evans is featuring brunch meals made with fresh-cut strawberries. Its to-go meals feed up to six people, and they are available for curbside pickup or delivery when customers order online.
Bonefish Grill is open for dine-in and carryout meals on Motherβs Day. Its βFamily Bundlesβ meals include salad, fresh bread and pesto, and house-baked cookies
The Capital Grille is accepting reservations for Motherβs Day. The restaurant included a βpolite noticeβ on its reservations page stating that βto better deliver on our promise of a refined atmosphere, proper dress is required.β That excludes gym attire, sweatpants, tank tops, hats, clothing with offensive language or images, and exposed undergarments.
Flemingβs Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar opens early at 11 a.m. on both May 7 and 8 with its Motherβs Day 3-Course Menu featuring a hand-cut filet mignon and pairing of the dinerβs choice.
Fogo de ChΓ£o Brazilian steakhouse is offering a ready-to-reheat Motherβs Day Celebration Package that feeds six and features a choice of fire-roasted meats, sides and dessert. Meals should be ordered at least 24 hours in advance and are available all day May 7, and until 10:30 a.m. May 8.
Kona Grill offers a weekend brunch special with deals on mimosas and signature brunch dishes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, including Motherβs Day.
Mortonβs, The Steakhouse is accepting reservations for Motherβs Day, and also will bring the meal to Mom in select locations.
Ruthβs Chris Steakhouse is offering its prix fixe Motherβs Day meal, including a starter, entrΓ©e, side and dessert, from May 6-8.
Seasons 52 Fresh Grill | Wine Bar is offering Motherβs Day brunch from 10 a.m. to noon and is making its dinner menu available all day. It is also offering a Motherβs Day Green Box that serves six. Orders must be placed by May 2.
