The Orting Valley Farmers Market is back for another great season of truly local products for all of us in this part of Pierce County!
Opening Day is Friday, June 20 from 3-7 pm. We will continue to operate on Fridays through August 29 (season extension based on demand). You will find local farms and growers, local food, and local handcrafted items. Shopping at this market helps to put your dollars back to work in the local economy.
Opening day will have farm, food, and craft vendors, music/entertainment, bounce house and story times for children, balloon man, magician, and face painting. Good fun at the market opening day.
This year the market is open on the 4th of July and we'll have an Apple Pie contest for all comers, and a variety of fun games to play for kids and adults- making for a fun, traditional 4th Celebration before the night falls. So start practicing your pie baking skills and give it a shot at the market.
At the Orting Valley Farmers Market you will find local produce, fruit, berries, eggs, meat, poultry,plants, flowers, baked goods, food- (including fudge, nuts, smoked salmon and smoked cheese vendors, lemonade, shave ice, and more), craft and gifts, free educational sessions/classes, Master Gardener Clinics, and a variety of other activities and information. You really need to visit this market to stock up on local goodness. (Tip: Bring cash in small bills to get the most out of your shopping experience. While an ATM is available across the street, and some vendors will accept debit cards, all vendors will accept cash payments).
