Playground Equipment Recalled At Bonney Lake Parks

BONNEY LAKE, WA - Slides at two city parks will be removed and replaced over the next few months due to a recall.

The manufacturer of slides at the Allan Yorke and Cedar View parks will be removed soon and replaced over the next few months, according to city officials.

The city has not released the name of the manufacturer, but is saying that, "Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of park patrons."

The company Playworld Systems Inc. issued a recall of stainless steel "lightning" slides in December due to reports of finger amputations. Welds on the slides can break and cause cracks, which cause cuts. There have been two reports of children losing fingers while using the slides.
