Lanes Reopen In Sumner After Semi Rolled On Westbound SR 410
Westbound lanes of State Route 410 were blocked for six hours after a truck crashed near Traffic Avenue.

SUMNER, WA β Westbound lanes of State Route 410 were blocked in Sumner through the evening commute after a semi-truck rolled under the Traffic Avenue overpass Wednesday afternoon. According to Washington State Patrol, witnesses reported the truck drifted to the right side of the road and struck a guardrail before tipping over shortly before 1 p.m. The truck's driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
East Pierce Fire posted photos of the semi on its side, and city officials said a cleanup effort would likely take some time. By 2:30 p.m. crews were still working to upright the truck and clean diesel that spilled across the road. Tow trucks began removing the semi shortly before 3 p.m. and briefly allowed stuck drivers to travel through the scene before closing the road again. All westbound lanes were blocked at Valley Avenue until 6:30 p.m.
18 wheels now rubber side down. Now, haul away truck and cleanup and we'll be able to clear. pic.twitter.com/zHIRxLQdgh

We're able to create enough room to get struck traffic through the scene. WB SR 410 is closed at Valley Avenue. Once the struck traffic gets through, we'll return to clearing the road. pic.twitter.com/MFwVMQSPmh
