Shots Fired At Sumner Police Car, City Hall: Report
Someone opened fire on Sumner city government early Tuesday morning, according to a report.

SUMNER, WA - Someone opened fire on Sumner City Hall and a city police car overnight Tuesday, according to KIRO 7. The shots were fired around 1 a.m., according to the report, which is when police began receiving 911 calls about gunshots in the area.
The bullets hit the back of City Hall and penetrated the rear window of a patrol car parked across the street. Sumner police are still investigating the incident.
It's unclear if the shooter was aiming at the city property, but it wouldn't be the first time someone opened fire on law enforcement in the area.

In December, someone fired five shots at the Pierce County Sheriff's Office substation in Bonney Lake along 214th Avenue East. The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Detectives believe that the shooter parked their vehicle and walked into the parking lot within 100 feet of the office. The five shots entered a window at the front of the building. There were sheriff's office cars parked in front of the building at the time.
