Special Schedules for Sumner School District This Week

Editor's Note: The following information was provided by the Sumner School District.

March 26:  Elementary and Middle School Half-Day Early Dismissal, K-8 Conferences, No Red Kindergarten

March 27:  Regular Wednesday Late Start, High School Conferences

March 28:  K-12 Half-Day Early Dismissal, K-12 Conferences, No Blue Kindergarten

March 29:  K-12 Half-Day Early Dismissal, Half-Day Teacher Furlough Day

All elementary and middle school students will attend school for a half-day on March 26.  All students will attend school for a half-day on March 28 and 29. Breakfast and lunch will be served.  Students will be dismissed at the following times:

• Middle and High Schools at 10:25 a.m.
• Early Start Elementary Schools at 11:40 a.m.
• Late Start Elementary Schools at 12:15 p.m.

As part of District budget reductions, all teachers in the Sumner School District have 2 furlough days this school year.  A furlough day is regularly scheduled work day where staff do not work and are not paid, reducing payroll and matching the reduction in state allocation to the District of 1.9%.

There is a half-day teacher furlough day scheduled for March 29, 2013.
