Sumner High School Loses Longtime Teacher
School officials announced to families Wednesday that Chris Prestin, who taught at Sumner High School for 21 years and headed its IB program, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday.

A longtime teacher at Sumner High School unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, school officials said today.
Chris Prestin, the high school's International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme coordinator, taught at Sumner for 21 years, according to a communication that was sent to families of students on Wednesday and also posted to the high school web site.
"Ms. Prestin touched the lives of many Sumner High School students over the past 21 years," said the statement. "Our staff and community will remember her for her influence on students in the classroom and for her leadership of our International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme."
