Sumner Loses to Port Angeles 55-45

The Sumner High School boy’s basketball team kept the lead for most of the game against the Port Angeles at Henry Ross High School on Feb. 16.

At halftime, Sumner led the game 27-21 but by the fourth quarter Port Angeles took the lead. With three minutes left in the fourth quarter, the score was 42-41 Port Angeles.

The Roughriders turned on the heat and with only 57 second left in the game led the game 51-43. They ended up winning 55-45.

 “We didn’t play to our potential,” said David Devries, Sumner guard. “We are a better team than them and we just played down to their level.” 

Coach Brett McDaniel described the game as “terrible.”

“We just have to come back and win now,” McDaniel said.
