Sumner Man Was Speeding Before Deadly 512 Crash: State Patrol

Washington State Patrol is reporting that a 42-year-old Sumner man was speeding before the multi-car pileup Thursday.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A multi-car crash Thursday afternoon along SR 512 that left a motorcyclist dead and closed several lanes of the highway for almost five hours was caused by a speeding driver, according to Washington State Patrol. Following the accident, state patrol listed the cause of the crash as "speeding" and is pursuing a charge of unable to control speed against Anthony J. Frazee, 42, of Sumner.

The crash involved six cars and motorcyclist Michael Seese, 39, of Puyallup, who died after he and his bike slid underneath a utility trailer of another vehicle involved in the crash.

According to state patrol, Frazee hit two vehicles, which caused a chain reaction where three following vehicles also crashed. In addition to Seese, a 7-year-old girl and a 30-year-old woman from Fircrest, Renee Harris, were injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment.
