Sumner Police: Woman Shatters Boyfriend's Vehicle Window with Fist, and Two Arrested for DUI

April 11, 2013
Property Damage: A police cruiser sustained $100 in damages to the front side marker lense after some kind of debris fell from a truck operated by City Transfer Inc. as both traveled southbound on the 3200 block of East Valley Highway at about 2:40 p.m.

Unruly Patron: Police responded to the Log Cabin Pub on the 2700 block of East Valley Highway at 11:29 p.m. for a report of a disorderly patron who refused to leave. He did leave with some friends in a vehicle, however, before police arrived but after tussling with two security personnel at the bar. Neither security guards were pressing charges but the city attorney would review the case regardless.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after responding to the intersection of 64th Street East and 160th Avenue East at about 6:15 p.m. and conducting a traffic stop. The driver had been reported earlier trying to drive his vehicle through the gate at the Corliss property.
DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI, hit and run and also cited him for no proof of insurance after responding to the Orion Town homes area in the Rivergrove complex near Rivergrove Drive and State Route 162 at 8:52 p.m. for a report he had rear-ended another vehicle that was slowing at a stop light that was turning from yellow to red and then drove off. The victims told police they followed the vehicle to the complex and reported the location for the responding officers. He had reportedly stopped and spoke to them to make sure they were OK before driving away.

Domestic Violence: Police responded to the 6200 block of Parker Road at 10:08 p.m. for a report someone was swinging a baseball bat at but had not actually hit another person. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who told police he, his girlfriend and her friend had been out drinking earlier but when they returned, she began to 'flip out' over cat food. She had reportedly smashed the windshield of his vehicle with her fist before retreating to her apartment. She never hit him with the baseball bat, he said, as he took it away from her. She was uncooperative with officers during the entire response and was taken to Puyallup Jail where she was cited for domestic violence malicious mischief.
