Sumner Swim Takes Fifth at State
After a strong season, the Sumner men's swim and dive team placed fifth in State Swim and Dive Championships.
The Sumner Spartans received strong efforts from several individuals on their way to a fifth place finish at the 2A state swim and dive championships.
The Spartans finished with a total of 36 points.
Senior diver Evan Quaschnick earned a score of 329.60 to finish third in the diving competition. Trent Powers swam a mark of 22.27, which earned him a third place finish in the 50 free.

Spartan senior Trent Powers swam a 49.21 to finish fifth in the 100 free and teamed up with Zane Gustafson, Sam Rigsby and Connor Powers-Hubbard to earn a sixth place finish in the 200 free relay.
Peitro Postal took the place of Rigsby on the Sumner 400 free relay team and helped the foursome finish with a time of 3:28.25, which was good for seventh place in the A-Final.

Gustafson swam in the 100 breast and finished in eighth in the A-Final as well for the Spartans.
