Teen Rescued From Ravine After Crash Near Bonney Lake
Pierce County first responders rescued a teenage girl Friday night after her car crashed 30 feet down a wooded ravine.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Pierce County first responders rescued a teenage girl Friday night after her car careened off a sharp turn near Bonney Lake and landed 30 feet down a ravine. Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department joined East Pierce Fire to coordinate a rope rescue near Rhodes Lake Road East after the girl called 911 just before midnight. According to the sheriff's department, one of the deputies who responded is a member of the Search & Rescue Team and was able to reach the teen and get her to safety using a rope system.

He was able to prepare a rope system to get down the hill to the driver, & with the help of firefighters & other deputies he was able to get her out of the vehicle and up the steep terrain to safety.
