Watch Out For High Wind, Heavy Rain Thursday: Forecast
A storm will bring very heavy rain to the region midday Thursday followed by wind.

SUMNER, WA - Make sure to bring your rain gear to work on Thursday. The National Weather Service is predicting very heavy rains for the region around lunchtime, and river flooding is possible.
"Heavy rain on Thursday will cause rapid rises on area rivers. The Skokomish River in Mason county and the White River near R street in King county are the most likely rivers to reach flood stage. The heaviest precipitation is likely to fall in the mountains and areas south of Seattle," the NWS said in a special hydrologic outlook for Thursday.
Forecasters are predicting that 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches of rain will fall Thursday. There's also a chance that we'll get significant winds following the rain on Thursday night. Expect gusts up to 35 MPH.

However, the rain that will fall closer to Puget Sound will come down as snow in the Cascades. The mountains are under a winter storm watch through Thursday evening. Up to 20 inches of snow could fall in the Cascades at pass levels and higher.
At Snoqualmie Pass, forecasters are predicting freezing rain that will transition to rain by Thursday afternoon.
