Transmission Line Work To Cause Traffic Delays

Today's work on SR 410 in Sumner is expected to cause slowdowns in several areas.

SUMNER, WA - Installation of high transmission lines is anticipated to cause delays today on SR 410. The Puget Sound Energy work will be completed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. where SR 410 crosses over State Street near the SR 512/SR 167 interchange and along Houston Road near where West Valley Highway meets Valley Avenue and adjacent to SR 167, according to a statement from the town.

In addition to SR 410, the work is expected to result in additional traffic on SR 167, State Street, West Valley Highway and Valley Avenue. A low-flying helicopter will be involved in the work and will likely be a distraction to drivers.

While the helicopter is overhead, Washington State Patrol will be doing rolling slowdowns from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to keep traffic at an even pace. The congestion resulting from the slowdowns should clear up quickly.
