In Focus: Centralia celebrates Homecoming court and Alumni Night (chronline.com) β Centralia High School packed Tiger Stadium on Sept. 25 to crown Homecoming royalty and welcome alumni spanning classes from the 1960s through 2026. Students paraded across the field, Homecoming Queen Ceiana Arelong celebrated her new title, and generations of Centralia graduates waved flags and banners as they were honored during Alumni Night.

2. Centralia home a 'complete loss' after fire (chronline.com) β A doublewide home on Van Wormer Street in Centralia was destroyed by fire Saturday night, leaving the occupants displaced but uninjured. Riverside Fire Authority and assisting agencies found heavy flames through the roof, declared the structure and contents a complete loss, and noted damage to nearby utilities and a carport while investigators work to determine the cause.

3. Days after armed robbery, Centralia man allegedly threatened to kill group with machete (chronline.com) β A Centralia man has been jailed on multiple felony charges after police say he threatened a group with a machete downtown less than two days after an attempted armed robbery at a local convenience store. Centralia officers linked the suspect to both incidents using a distinctive PepperBall launcher and security footage, and he's being held on $100,000 bail while additional robbery charges are considered.

4. Amtrak's new Airo trains launch Sept. 30 on the Cascades route (thenewstribune.com) β New Amtrak Airo trains will begin running Sept. 30 on the Cascades route that stops in Centralia, offering more comfortable seating, better accessibility, and faster, modern equipment. While travel times won't change yet, Centralia riders can look for trains 503, 508, 516 and 519 to experience the new cars as they roll out between Eugene, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.
