1 Dead In Shooting At Highway 99 Bar

A bar employee allegedly shot and killed a man who opened fire outside the bar, according to police.

EVERETT, WA - Two people were shot outside a bar along Highway 99 early Saturday morning, leaving one person dead. A bar employee allegedly shot and killed a man who assaulted another man with a gun.

Police were called to the bar located along the 13600 block of Highway 99 around 2 a.m. That location is just a few blocks north of where Highway 99 and the Mukilteo Speedway intersect. According to police, there was a fight between several people in the bar. During the fight, a 29-year-old man went out to his car, got his gun, and opened fire in the parking lot.

A 23-year-old Lynnwood man was hit, and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is expected to recover. The bar employee returned fire on the 29-year-old, killing him, police reported.

Snohomish County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
