A Foul-Weather Race? Any Day on the Water Is a Good Day
The Corinthian Yacht Club of Edmonds holds its 31st annual race on Saturday. The sails will be out in force on Puget Sound.

This is one yacht race that might live up to its name if the last few days are any indication.
The Corinthian Yacht Club of Edmonds will be holding its 31st annual Foulweather Bluff Race on Saturday. After a skipper’s meeting at 8 a.m. at , the first division will start at 10 a.m. in reverse starting sequence, with multihulls in the last start.
The race starts about a half-mile north of the Edmonds ferry dock.
Yachts with a Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) rating of 180 and lower will race the 26-mile feature course. Yachts with a PHRF rating higher than 180 and those in the NFS (non-flying sails) division will race the 18-mile course.
PHRF membership is mandatory to take part.
The awards presentation is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the , near guest moorage. In addition to first- through third-place division trophies, the perpetual Bill Heston Performance trophy is awarded to the first place overall monohull winner.
This race is also a team event. The Grand Perpetual Foulweather Bluff team trophy is awarded to the yacht club with the best four-boat-combined finishes.
The Edmonds Marina has overnight moorage available Friday and Saturday. Moorage rates are $1 per foot.
