• Edmonds approves 24/7 use of school zone speed cameras (heraldnet.com) — Edmonds drivers will soon face 24/7 school-zone speed camera enforcement near four local schools, with $144 fines starting for speeds 7 mph over the limit and higher penalties during drop-off and pick-up. The city council's 5-2 vote aims to improve safety after dozens of crashes, and the program is expected to begin in early 2027 following a 30-day warning period.
   

• Coaches react to Wesco 3A Football realignment for 2026 (heraldnet.com) — Edmonds high school football fans will see a new Wesco 3A setup this fall, with Edmonds-Woodway, Lynnwood, Meadowdale and Mountlake Terrace grouped in an all-Edmonds/Shoreline South division. The change cuts travel to mainly Edmonds Stadium and Shoreline Stadium and gives teams more flexibility to schedule non-league opponents that fit their competitive level.
