Commissioners are also pushing back on the City of Edmonds' transportation impact fees that they say burden new waterfront businesses, while advancing a long-term port master plan and scheduling their next meeting for Sept. 14.

South County Fire Board Adopts New District Map, Seeks Applicant for Newly Created Edmonds District (lynnwoodtimes.com) β Edmonds is now officially part of South County Fire's Election District 4, giving local voters a direct voice on the regional fire authority board sooner than expected after a commissioner's resignation. The board is seeking an Edmonds-area resident to fill the vacant District 4 seat by appointment through 2027, with applications due Sept. 23 and clear eligibility rules for interested community members.

From morning to night, there's a lot going on in MLT Sept. 12 (mymltnews.com) β Neighbors from Edmonds are invited to Mountlake Terrace on Saturday, Sept. 12 for three free, family-friendly events, including a morning volunteer park cleanup, an afternoon dog-focused Wagfest with many regional vendors, and an evening Luminaria walk at Ballinger Park. All activities are open to all ages and offer an easy way for Edmonds residents to connect with nearby communities.

Edmonds' Grace Lutheran Church 'joining in ministry' with Maple Park Church (myedmondsnews.com) β Grace Lutheran Church, long based on 9th Avenue North in Edmonds, will hold its final local service on Sept. 27 before joining in ministry with Maple Park Church in Lynnwood starting Oct. 4. Leaders cite a shortage of pastors and practical building considerations, and they invite Edmonds community members to continue worshiping with them at the new shared location.
