2. Hundreds celebrate Chuseuk at Edmonds Waterfront Center (mylynnwoodnews.com) — Hundreds of neighbors gathered at the Edmonds Waterfront Center Thursday night to celebrate Chuseok, the Korean Harvest Moon Festival, with traditional food, music, dance, and calligraphy. Around 300 community members enjoyed a shared dinner and performances from local Korean choirs, musicians, and dancers, marking the fifth year this cultural celebration has brought Edmonds residents together.
3. North Sound Church brings art, story and friendship to Edmonds Post Acute nursing home (myedmondsnews.com) — A new project at Edmonds Post Acute nursing home is pairing residents' life stories with AI‑crafted watercolor canvases and handmade quilts to brighten their rooms. Volunteers from North Sound Church's Dream Company initiative sit with residents, capture their memories, and turn them into personalized art, building friendships while continuing an earlier quilt donation drive that has already delivered hundreds of blankets.
4. Mary Jo Bevan: 1928-2026 (edmondsbeacon.com) — Longtime Edmonds resident and nurse Mary Jo Bevan died Sept. 6 at age 98½ at her home in Edmonds, leaving a deep legacy in local arts and civic life. She balanced a nursing career in Edmonds with leadership in groups like the Edmonds Music and Arts Club, Sno-King Chorale, and League of Women Voters, while raising four children and cherishing a large extended family.
5. League of Women Voters completes Constitution Week readings with Edmonds event (myedmondsnews.com) — A Constitution Week community reading wrapped up Thursday at Edmonds United Methodist Church, capping a week of events across Snohomish County. Residents were invited to read or listen to the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, part of a growing annual effort by the League of Women Voters to promote civic understanding.
