Show runs March 12-April 18 - Special Q&A March 12th 3pm-6pm w/ Deirdre
Deirdre Murphy intersects science and art in contemporary perfection where abstraction and representation share a language of different dialects. In “Archivist of the Sky”, showing at Zinc Art + Object’s (formerly Zinc Art + Interior) gallery space Zinc Contemporary beginning March 12. In this new show, Murphy utilizes all her senses to capture patterns in nature from the social networking of birds to star constellations.
Murphy artistically documents the social patterns of birds through bold color and dynamic shapes representing sounds, murmurations, and migration as well as the effects of climate change on these patterns. She will be discussing her works and taking questions in a Q&A special event on March 12th from 3pm-6pm at Zinc Contemporary.
Her inspired, bold, and color rich work has received much attention nationally with a current two year installation at the Philadelphia International Airport, recent solo exhibitions at Gross McCleaf Gallery and the Anthropologie headquarters, a TV feature on Articulate with Jim Cotter, and works published in Fresh Paint Magazine and New American Painting.
