Artist Kate Steiger Presents "Beautiful Ruins" at Cole Gallery

Kate Steiger explores the secrets of history and the passage of time in her show at Cole Gallery from August 21-September 21.

Inspired by her travels to the ancient city of Pompeii and the archaeological treasures of Crete and Indochina, Steiger creates a rich and intricate painterly surface that illuminates the designs of a weathered fresco, the patterns of a mosaic wall, the contours of a Grecian vase, and the foliage of forgotten gardens. Steiger makes the past come alive again in her unique technique of buried collage and other mixed media.
