Car Strikes Couple in Crosswalk at Edmonds Way and 100th Avenue West

No one was seriously injured at one of Edmonds' busiest intersections on Wednesday after a car plowed into two pedestrians.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Mike Blackburn of the Edmonds Police, a car driven southbound on 100th Avenue West by 25-year-old Lynnwood woman turned west onto Edmonds Way (SR 104). 

At this same time, a 65-year-old Hansville man accompanied by a 63-year-old Hansville woman were crossing Edmonds Way, north to south, in a marked crosswalk.

The vehicle collided with the man, which pushed him into the 63-year-old woman, knocking both of them to the ground. The two pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the car was not injured.

In addition to the police, aid and paramedic units from Snohomish County Fire District 1 also responded to the scene. 

The investigation continues.
