Catch Two Local Authors At Monthly Art Walk
Literary junkies, head over to Edmonds Bookshop during Thursday's art walk to hear two Western Washington authors speak about their work.
Visual works generally dominates the Third Thursday Art Walk, but the does its part to bring the literary arts to our community. During each art walk, the downtown retailer brings in an author or poet to read excerpts from their publications and discuss the work. This Thursday is no exception.
Edmonds Bookshop presents two Western Washington authors, one of which has recently published her first novel. Bernadette Pajer spent her childhood in Seattle. She began writing after moving to Orcas Island as a newlywed, where she met author Richard Bach. After taking a writing certificate course at the University of Washington and experiencing the typical years of literary rejections, Pajer is now hard at work on a murder mystery series about an early 20th century professor at UW. Pajer will be on hand to sign the first book in the series, A Spark of Death, at the Edmonds Bookshop on Thursday evening.
A second spine-tingling mystery author, Jeanne Matthews, will present the second book in her Dinah Pelerin Mystery series. Bet Your Bones is set in the paradise of Hawaii, where a bride-to-be, her groom and the rest of the wedding party face danger, local contention and reoccurring earthquakes. Add a ruthless killer to the mix and you’ve got the perfect summer beach read. Matthews was born and raised in Georgia and currently lives in Renton with her husband.
