Clinging To Cliff, Edmonds Dad Hangs On To Kids Until Help Arrives

An Edmonds dad and his two kids had to be rescued from an oceanside cliff after getting trapped by rising tides.

EDMONDS, WA - A backpacking trip on the Olympic Peninsula ending on a terrifying note for a group from Edmonds. According to KING 5, dad D.J. Wilson and his two kids and a cousin were left clinging to a cliff near La Push after high-tide washed over the trail they were hiking.

Wilson told KING 5 that he was backpacking with his family and a friend, Michael Howard, and Howard's daughter in the Olympic National Forest. The group decided to take a shortcut that brought them close to the ocean. When high tide rolled in, the group got trapped.

Howard and his daughter swam to shore. But Wilson and his family climbed up the cliff to and 18 inch cliff and hung on until help came.
