Dead Tree Kills Snohomish County Man: Police
The man was cutting down a dead tree on his property when it apparently fell on top of him.

SNOHOMISH, WA - A Snohomish County man died Tuesday night after a dead tree near his home fell on him, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. The 61-year-old's wife told police that her husband had set out earlier in the day to cut down the rotten tree.
The wife called police around 11 p.m. Tuesday after her husband didn't return home, and didn't answer his cell phone. Police searched the couple's property and found him face-down under a rotten tree, his two chainsaws located nearby. The man appears to have died from a traumatic head injury. The man's identity was not immediately released pending an examination by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
