Driftwood Players to Stage Rodgers and Hammerstein Classic: "The King and I"
Tickets are now available for the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic pitting East vs. West. The show's run begins the day after Thanksgiving.

The classic musical pits East vs. West in a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting love story. When summoned to Bangkok's Royal Palace in 1862 to tutor the many children and wives of the King of Siam, English widow Anna Leonowens struggles with the King's barbaric behavior.

Over time, however, the two come to understand, respect and even embrace one another's traditions and values.

The King & I will be performed Nov. 25-Dec. 18 at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St, Edmonds. Showtimes are Thursdays through Fridays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. An American Sign Language performance is Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $23, $20 for those 18 and under, seniors 60 and over and military with ID in uniform.
